Be able to bow up through p. 25 in EE Book 1 with good bowhold (see below), intonation, and rhythm.
As you have time, work on Suzuki Book 1, No. 3-4
Arabelle—15 minutes for 5 days or 1 hour and 15 minutes
Be able to bow open strings with good bowhold (see below).
Be able to read (plucking) EE pp. 6-15, and if time pp. 18-25
If the reading and the bowhold on open strings are going well, work on the reading with the bow, but only if you can maintain a good bowhold : ).
Violin Bowhold
a. Is the stick touching the outermost creases of my middle two fingers?
b. Is my pinky curved and touching the stick with the tip?
c. Is the right tip of my thumb touching the stick directly across from the 2nd (longest) finger?
d. Is my index finger hooked and lying on its side, touching the stick between the first two knuckles?
